Մահազդ․ Դեյվիդ Սթրոնախ

2020 թ. հունիսի 27-ին կյանքից հեռացավ անվանի հնագետ՝ Դեյվիդ Սթրոնախը (ծնվ. 1931 թ.), որը հայտնի է Պասարգադայում, Թեփե Նուշ - ի Ջանում և Նինվեում իրականացրած իր պեղումներով: 1960-70-ական թթ. նա եղել է Թեհրանի Պարսկական հետազոտությունների բրիտանական ինստիտուտի տնօրեն: 1981-2004 թթ. ընթացքում Դ. Սթրոնախը Կալիֆորնիայի համալսարանի, Բերքլի պրոֆեսոր էր: Ակտիվ գիտական գործունեության շնորհիվ նա վաստակել է մի շարք պարգևներ և մրցանակներ, որոնց թվում՝ Ամերիկյան հնագիտական ինստիտուտի ոսկե մեդալը «Առանձնահատուկ հնագիտական նվաճումների» համար (2004 թ.): Դ. Ստրոնախը հետազոտություններ է կատարել նաև Հայաստանում, մասնավորապես Հոռոմում և Էրեբունիում: Ինստիտուտի գիտական անձնակազմը ցավակցություն է հայտնում անվանի գիտնականի մահվան կապակցությամբ:
