The Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography focuses on the following subjects and goals:

To conduct scientific research in various fields, including archaeology, ethnography, ethnology, folklore, philology, epigraphy, ethnosociology, culturology, physical anthropology (paleoanthropology and ethnic anthropology), and paleobiology, utilizing both fieldwork and experimental methods.
